Dr. Katherine Thigpin
Dr. Katherine Thigpin obtained her doctorate from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986 and joined the staff at Ashland Terrace Animal Hospital. In 2002, Dr. Thigpin began raising dairy goats and got "hooked!" Since that time she has been treating small ruminant patients (goats, sheep, alpaca, lama) at her barn in Sale Creek. Retiring from Ashland Terrace Animal Hospital after 32 years, she is now enjoying expanding her own practice utilizing "state of the art" equipment and methods in Sale Creek. Dr. Thigpin has additional certification in Veterinary Forensic Science through the University of Florida. She has extensive experience in cancer treatment, ultrasonography, and ophthalmology.
Dr. Thigpin enjoys sharing her love and knowledge of animals with others. She is available for presentations at conferences and group meetings. Since 2007, Dr. Thigpin has taught a variety of science courses to groups of homeschool students. Dr. Thigpin and her husband Keith have two sons, Brian and Allen.
Dr. Jana Long
Dr. Long is from Huntsville, Al., but she has called Chattanooga her home since graduating from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. While she loves all aspects of veterinary medicine, she especially enjoys internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. After being in a busy small animal practice since graduation, she is excited to expand her interests in poultry and small ruminants. She strives to treat all of her patients as she would treat her own pets.
Dr. Long lives in Hixson with her husband Stephen and their two sons, Bryce and Jase. Their pets include 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 5 chickens. When not working she enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with her family. Her favorite activities include kickboxing, hiking, fishing, swimming and reading. She is excited to be joining the Sale Creek Veterinary Services team.
Dr. Gussack
Dr. Gussack worked as a veterinary assistant for 10 years before graduating from University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She and her husband returned to the Chattanooga area and in 2011 she started her own practice, Vet2Go Housecalls. When she is not working she enjoys gardening, knitting, reading and cooking and playing with her cats, dogs and goats.
Jessica Sellars
Jessica is our resident crazy cat lady and has been in veterinary medcine since 2014. She is originally from South Florida but is much happier in Soddy Daisy, TN. Jessica has 6 cats, a snake, and 2 dogs. She has started her career as a manager and has found a new love for goats and other small ruminants while being here at Sale Creek Veterinary Services. Jessica co-owns Daisy Creek Dairy with Dr. Thigpin.
Jennifer Broome
Jennifer has been working in the veterinary field for 20+ years. She began working for Sale Creek on a part time basis shortly after its inception. Jennifer lives on Lewis Chapel Mountain and is married with 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and her dogs. Her favorite things to do are go to the beach, go on adventures with the grandkids, and spend time with her friends and family.
Pennie Hendrick
A graduate of Oglethorpe University has had the good fortune to live in Cheverly, Maryland, Verona, Italy, Alexandra, Virginia, the Panama Canal Zone and Atlanta, Georgia before coming to Dayton Tennessee.
Pennie has spent most of her life in the dance world as a classical ballerina, teacher, choreographer, and owner of To the Pointe Creative Dance.
After being able to follow her dream in the dance world, Pennie retired from that profession, moved to Dayton, Tennessee, and now has a small farm. Her farm consists of goats, donkeys, cows, a llama, turkeys, ducks, peafowl, chickens, guineas, a few cats, and a plethora of dogs.
Debbie Gordon
Debbie has moved here from Pennsylvania with her mom and step dad. She and her husband have 5 kids (ages 3-15 years old), and her family lives on New Hope Alpaca Farm with 10 alpacas, 5 dogs, 7 chickens, a rooster, and 2 guinea fowl! In her free time she loves to crotchets hats and other wool items with her alpaca fiber.
Harley Snyder
Harley grew up in the Red Bank area and moved to Mcdonald, TN 2 years ago with her fiance, Cody. She loves spending time taking care of her mini farm and fishing on the weekends. Harley has a zebu cow and bull, 2 horses, a mini jack, 7 dogs, 4 ducks, and 2 goats!
Halee
Halee was born and raised in the Chattanooga area. She graduated with a bachelor of science from UTC and is now studying through Penn Foster to pursue her dream of being a Veterinary Technician. In her down time she likes to hike with her pup, spend time with her family and friends, and cheer on the Georgia Bulldogs!
Morgan Richmond

Morgan has lived in Tennessee her whole life, she graduated from the University of Tennessee with bachelor degrees, in Animal Science and Wildlife Health. And is now a 3rd year veterinary student at St. George’s University, in Grenada, West Indies where her and her husband have enjoyed living the island life. She has always had a passion for animals, working with her dogs, goats, chickens, donkeys, and horses on her family farm in Ooltawah Tennessee. And cannot wait to finish her last year of school and be practicing herself.
Sarah Rodgers
Assistant
Sarah has been working in the veterinary field since May 2019 but has always had a passion for animals. She is an avid hockey fan and enjoys cheering for the Nashville Predators. She also enjoys going to different plant nurseries around Chattanooga when she is not studying to complete Penn Foster’s Veterinary Technician program. Sarah has one cat and 16 chickens.
Megan Lewis
Megan has been in veterinary medicine for over 14 years, She is married to her best friend Jared and they have 3 dogs and 2 cats. If Jessica is our resident crazy cat lady, Megan is our crazy plant lady! She enjoys baking and spending time in her greenhouse collecting succulents and cacti. She and her husband spend any free time at their home away from home on Jekjyll Island.

Jake is a graduate of the Chattanooga State Veterinary Technology program and has worked as a licensed Veterinary Technician since 2013. He has experience in small animal medicine and interests in avian and exotic animals. Jake's pets include: 6 dogs, 6 horses, 13 ducks, and a cat named Rosie.
